  • Train to Teach with Delta TSA

  • Bluebell Wood Donation

    This year the Academy Council suggested that instead of sending Christmas cards to each other the staff made donations to Bluebell Wood. The staff thought this was a good idea and the Academy Council collected donations of £88.06 from the adults in school.

  • Christmas Jumper Day

    All the children and staff came to school wearing Christmas jumpers on the last day of term to raise money for Save the Children. The event raised an amazing £166.51!! Well done everyone.

  • The Magic Castle Pantomime

    On the last day of term the whole school enjoyed a performance of The Magic Castle by Chaplins. A great deal of FUN was had by ALL!!

  • Remembrance Day 2016

    The children sold poppies and new poppy related items (wristbands, bracelets etc) in school all week to raise money for the Royal British Legion. Can we say a Big Thank You to everyone who supported this worthwhile cause. We raised an impressive £240.91.

  • Attendance Tree

    A huge well done to everyone for the excellent attendance throughout the whole school in the first week back. Let's keep those apples green and continue to exceed the whole school target of 97%! Thank you to all parents/carers for your continued support.

     

  • Children in Need 2015

    The children and staff had a fun non-uniform day with many children dressing up as their favourite 'Superheroes' for the day.  We raised an amazing £494.01 for Children in Need. Well done everyone.

  • Samaritan's Purse Appeal 2015

    A huge thank you to everyone who filled a shoebox for the Samaritan's Purse Appeal. We sent an incredible 64 shoeboxes to different parts of the world to children who are less fortunate than us.

  • Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM)

    We are delighted to announce that Rowena Academy has been awarded the Gold Primary Science Quality Mark.

    Our reviewer Jane Turner wrote in her report: "I congratulate you on achieving a Gold Award. As an outstanding Academy and from your submission I have no doubt that you are fulfilling the ‘beyond the school gate’ part of PSQM Gold and also your role as an academy to support others. Obviously to do this you must have excellent practices in place yourself.

  • Achievement for All Quality Mark

    We are delighted to announce that Rowena Academy has been awarded the Achievement for All Quality Mark. The Assessors came into school recently to look at our evidence, and to speak with the children and staff.  They were very impressed and sent us the following personal congratulations message:

  • The Chicks have arrived!!

    Our eggs have all hatched and we now have 9 lovely chicks - 6 females and 3 males. They are adorable and the children (and parents!) have thoroughly enjoyed watching them emerge from their shells and turn into fluffy, chirpy chicks. The chilcks will be with us for one more week and then they will return to the farm.

    Today the incubator arrived with 9 eggs. Over the next 3 days we are expecting some new arrivals. The incubator is in the main entrance to the Academy so please feel free to pop in and have a look.

  • Enterprise Week

    All the children took part in our Enterprise Week to raise money to support Peter Kaira, a child we sponsor in Malawi. Each class was given £20:00 and they used this to purchase ingredients to make Easter produce to sell on stalls at our Enterprise Market. The children made an incredible £162:27 profit!

  • Foundation Fund Friday

    All the children and staff had a fun day during our 'Wear a Hat to School Day' and raised an amazing £250.40 for the SPTA Foundation Fund. Well done everyone!

  • Let it Snow!!
